Description
Special Weather Statement issued December 10 at 1:56AM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

Low temperatures tonight/early Monday morning are expected to fall
below freezing in portions, but not all of south-central Texas.
A freeze is possible in at least some small portion of nearly
every county in our region, but will not impact the entirety of
most of these counties.

The highest freeze chances will be in the region between
Fredericksburg, Kerrville, Boerne, and Canyon Lake, but freezing
temperatures may also occur in the drainage areas of the western
escarpment from Barksdale and Rio Frio southward into portions of
the Rio Grande Plains. In addition, freezing temperatures are
likely in significant portions of Llano, Hays, Bastrop, Caldwell,
and Gonzales Counties, as well as parts of the surrounding areas.
While far eastern portions of Travis and far northern portions of
Bexar County may freeze briefly, the cities of Austin and San
Antonio will not. A few locations in the Hill Country and east of
I-35 could see the freeze last as long as 3-5 hours on the high
end.

Those in low-lying areas will want to protect sensitive plants.
