The York County Sheriff’s Office has a program that can help.

The York County Project Lifesaver Program is a program available to the residents of the county to assist caregivers of loved ones who are prone to wandering. The program involves placing an FM transmitter similar to a wrist watch on the arm or leg of the person who is prone to wander.
If the person wanders away, the caregiver contacts 911 and the York County Sheriff’s Office’s trained personnel will respond and assist in locating the individual using equipment designed for locating the signal from the transmitter. York County is one of a few counties in Pennsylvania that participates in this invaluable and successful program.
The startup for the York County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver Program has been collaborative effort between the Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office. Project Lifesaver International (PLI) is a non-profit organization and all supplies for the program are purchased through PLI.
The York County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver doesn’t charge any fees to enroll into the program.
