Special Weather Statement issued November 1 at 6:14AM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
Southeastward-moving lake-enhanced snow showers will impact the
morning commute in counties generally north and east of
Pittsburgh this morning, with the heaviest moving across Butler
County. Portions of Interstates 79 and 80 will be affected.
A quick coating of around an inch is possible on roads this
morning where the snow is heaviest, and visibility may be reduced
to below a mile at times. Occasional snow showers will continue
through the morning, becoming less intense and less likely to
cause accumulation by late morning.
If you encounter an accumulating snow shower while driving, slow
down and increase the distance between your car and those that
surround you. Allow for extra time to reach your destination.
