Description
Special Weather Statement issued October 30 at 2:10AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Gusty north winds are ongoing early this morning behind a strong
cold front, and are expected to last through the first half of
today. Widespread sustained values in the 20-25 MPH range are
forecast, with embedded gusts between 30 and 40 MPH likely. These
winds, combined with ongoing rain and cold temperatures moving in
from the north, will create blustery and raw conditions over
South-Central Texas. Wind chills in the mid to upper 20s are
expected across most of the southern Edwards Plateau, Hill
Country, and I-35 Corridor through late morning, with values in
the low to mid 30s elsewhere. Be sure to bundle up accordingly
when heading out this morning. Winds will gradually begin to taper
by early this afternoon, though wind chills will remain in the
30s.
