Description
Good morning Harrison Township!

As our calendars turn toward the holiday season, your officers over here at Police Department wanted to take a minute to give you a "heads up" to let you know that fraudulent phone calls, emails, and text messages increase this time of year and continues as we get closer into Tax Season.

Around the holidays people tend to let their "guard" down and fall victim to financial crimes which can often cost thousands of dollars and give you some major headaches!

We invite you to take this short "Quiz" provided by the American Bankers Association to see how prepared you are for fraud! If you score very highly on this quiz---don't hang up the phone yet! Chances are that you have a family member or neighbor (occasionally elderly) who could use a "heads up" as well! Thousands of people fall for these kinds of scams every year. Please encourage them take the quiz as well! You can find it at:

https://www.banksneveraskthat.com/

If you fall victim to a phishing scam, please contact your bank and credit card companies to lock accounts and file a report with the police.

Thank you- and good luck on your quiz!
