Description
Update: Service Restored to Nearly Two-Thirds of Impacted Customers in Freedom/Economy Borough, Pa.

Our next update will be at posted at 1 p.m. on October 19, 2023.

Safety continues to be our top priority as Columbia Gas service technicians work to complete service restorations for customers in and around Baden, Conway, Economy Borough and Freedom, and small sections of Brighton Heights and Rochester in Beaver County.

Service restorations have been completed or are in progress in five of the six restoration phases, with natural gas service now restored to nearly two-thirds of customers overall.

Restoration of service for customers in the remaining phase will begin soon, so we ask customers for their patience and understanding as we work our way through the restoration process.

Some customers may see service restored sooner than others, so we ask for your patience and understanding as we work our way safely through the restoration process.

Please see the maps below for a general overview and status of the areas included in each phase.

Warming center

The warming center at the Conway Borough Municipal Building, at 801 First Avenue in Conway, is currently open, offering items such as dry shampoo and cleansing wipes, refreshments and cots/blankets for affected customers who still may want overnight accommodations.

What customers can expect during restoration

Columbia Gas crews continue to go door-to-door, performing safety checks and relighting natural gas appliances. Crews will be working throughout the night, and homes where service has not been restored yet are asked to keep their porch lights on.

To learn more about the relight process, please watch the See how we restore service after an outage video below.

All Columbia Gas employees and contractors wear company-issued ID badges with their photos on them.

Crews will be circulating through each neighborhood multiple times to reach customers who may not be home when crews make initial visits to customers’ homes. For customers who cannot be reached during the service restoration process, door hangers will be left at their homes informing them of the outage and requesting they call Columbia Gas at 1-888-460-4332 for a service technician to be dispatched to restore service to their homes.

If customers in completed phases still have not been restored and did not receive a door hanger, please notify Columbia Gas at 1-888-460-4332 to have a service technician dispatched.

We apologize for this inconvenience and thank customers for their patience.
