Hello Wesleyville Residents,
We wish to inform you about a road hazard on Bird Drive, specifically in the northbound lane between Glendale Ave and Woodlawn Ave. Erie Water Works recently conducted repairs in this area, and unfortunately, the steel plate they used to cover their work zone has shifted, resulting in a significant exposed channel in the road surface. This channel measures approximately 8-10 inches wide, presenting a potential risk to both motorcyclists and motorists. Collisions with this hazard could lead to injuries and vehicle damage.
As you approach this section of Bird Drive, we kindly request that you exercise caution. The limited space on either side of the road hazard makes navigation particularly challenging. We strongly urge you to reduce your speed and travel with the utmost care.
Our Wesleyville Police Department is actively addressing this issue. They have been in contact with the City of Erie, and they are diligently working towards finding a prompt solution to rectify the problem.
