Special Weather Statement issued September 9 at 5:50PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 550 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Jersey Shore, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Williamsport, Montoursville, Duboistown, Collomsville, Cogan Station,
Trout Run, South Williamsport, Garden View, Oval, Salladasburg,
Williamsport Airport and Little League World Series Complex.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
north central Pennsylvania.
