Special Weather Statement issued September 7 at 5:23PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 522 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of stregthening
thunderstorms over Adams County and northern Maryland, moving
northeast at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Hanover, Gettysburg, Parkville, Hampton, Littlestown, Shrewsbury,
Codorus, McSherrystown, Lake Meade, Spring Grove, Stewartstown, Glen
Rock, Pennville, Bonneauville, New Oxford, East Berlin, Lake
Heritage, Cashtown, Aspers and Railroad.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
