Special Weather Statement issued September 5 at 11:23AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Widespread heat indices between 104 and 107 degrees are forecast
this afternoon over portions of the Rio Grande plains, Interstate
35 corridor and coastal plains. Be sure to stay well-hydrated by
drinking plenty of water, wear light-colored & loose-fitting
clothing and take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned
environments. Never leave children or pets unattended in vehicles.
Heat indices should start to come down around sunset.
