Special Weather Statement issued August 4 at 2:19PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 218 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 16
miles north of Lock Haven, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Williamsport, Montoursville, Jersey Shore, Duboistown, Elimsport,
Waterville, Cogan Station, Cammal, English Center, Trout Run, Little
Pine State Park, Loyalsockville, South Williamsport, Garden View,
Salladasburg, Little League World Series Complex and Williamsport
Airport.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
north central Pennsylvania.
