Heat Advisory issued July 28 at 3:19AM EDT until July 28 at 8:00PM EDT by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Heat index values up to 105 expected.
* WHERE...Franklin, Perry, Dauphin, Lebanon, Cumberland, Adams,
York and Lancaster Counties.
* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses to occur.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heat index values may exceed 105 in the
Harrisburg and surrounding larger metropolitan areas resulting
in localized dangerously hot conditions.
Drink plenty of fluids. Check up on relatives and neighbors, and
provide pets with adequate water and shelter from the sun. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances. Consider rescheduling strenuous
activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and
symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and
