Special Weather Statement issued July 24 at 8:10PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 809 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 16 miles south of Canton to 12 miles northeast
of Montoursville to near Milton. Movement was northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Williamsport, Montoursville, Muncy, Hughesville, Montgomery,
Elimsport, Kettle Creek Gorge, Lairdsville, Muncy Valley, Lincoln
Falls, Barbours, Loyalsockville, South Williamsport, Picture Rocks,
Laporte, Forksville, Eagles Mere, Hillsgrove, Williamsport Airport
and Little League World Series Complex.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
