Special Weather Statement issued July 20 at 10:03PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 1003 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 8 miles east of Apollo to North Side Pittsburgh
to near Wintersville. Movement was south at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville,
McMurray, Greensburg, Weirton, McKeesport, Steubenville, Washington,
Jeannette, Canonsburg, Vandergrift, Wellsburg, Apollo, West Liberty,
Avella, Gastonville, and Shaler Township.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 16 and 20.
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 48 and 72.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 35 and 63.
Parkway North between mile markers 1 and 4.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 54 and 84.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for
east central Ohio...western, southwestern and west central
Pennsylvania...and northern West Virginia.
