Description
BOIL WATER ADVISORY: Kirsch/Hartman Rd. water customers. Electrians are completing work to hook up an automatic generator at the water house. The outage will last approximately 2 hours. Thank you for your patience while we work to restore your water.

BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING
Greene Township Kirsch Road Water System May Be At Increased Risk From Microbial Contamination.
We routinely monitor the conditions in the dist r ibution system. On July 19, 2023, we experienced a loss of positive water pressure due to a power outage. A loss of positive water pressure is a signal of the existence of conditions that could allow contamination to ente r the dist r ibution system th r o ugh back-flow by back-pressure or back-siphonage. As a result, there is an increased chance that the water may contain disease-causing or ganisms .
What should I do?
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all wate r to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool befo r e using; or use bottled water. You should use boiled or bottled wate r for dr inking, making ice, washing dishes, br ushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.
Inadequately treated water may contain disease-causing organisms. These organisms include bacteria, viruses, and parasites, which can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and associated headaches.
These symptoms, however, are not caused only by organisms in drinking wate r , but also by othe r factors. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice.
Guardians of infants and young child ren and people at inc r eased risk, such as pregnant women, some of the elderly, and people with severely compromised immune systems, should seek advice from their health care advisors about drinking this water. General guidelines on ways to lessen the r isk of infection by microbes are available from EPA's Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1 (800) 426-4791.
What happened? What is being done?
The electricians turned off the electrical power to the water plant to make the connections necessary to operate the automatic generator . Once the power is restored, we will conduct testing as required and notify you when it is no longer necessary to boil water.
We will info r m you when all co r r ective actions have been completed and when you no longer need to boil your water.
