High Wind Warning issued July 18 at 11:20AM HST until July 19 at 6:00PM HST by NWS Honolulu HI
* WHAT...For the High Wind Warning, northeast winds 30 to 45 mph
with localized gusts of 60 mph expected. For the Wind Advisory,
northeast winds 20 to 40 mph with localized gusts of 50 mph.
* WHERE...Portions of Kahoolawe, Lanai, Maui and Molokai.
* WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, from 6 PM this evening to 6
PM HST Wednesday. For the Wind Advisory, until 6 PM HST this
evening.
* IMPACTS...Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines
and damage roofs. Power outages are possible. Travel will be
difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Strong winds may lead to property damage. Hazardous driving
conditions due to powerful cross winds will pose a serious risk
for drivers, especially for light weight and high profile
vehicles. Loose outdoor items should be brought inside or secured
properly.
