Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 4:58PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 458 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Weigelstown, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation
possible.
Locations impacted include...
York, Weigelstown, Elizabethtown, Middletown, Red Lion, Spry,
Dallastown, Hampton, Shiloh, East York, Stonybrook-Wilshire, West
York, Maytown, Grantley, Valley Green, Tyler Run-Queens Gate, Valley
View, Manchester, Hallam and Emigsville.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
