Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 5:02PM EDT by NWS State College PA
At 502 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Emmitsburg, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Gettysburg, Littlestown, Carroll Valley, Bonneauville, New Oxford,
Lake Heritage, Rouzerville, Cashtown, Orrtanna, Hunterstown,
Fairfield, McKnightstown, Two Taverns, Liberty Mountain Resort,
Gettysburg National Military Park and Gettysburg College.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
south central Pennsylvania.
