Description
Allegheny County is experiencing elevated concentrations of PM2.5 today and is forecasted to experience them Thursday, June 29 as well, due to Canadian wildfire smoke moving into the region. Parts of Allegheny County are experiencing air deemed “unhealthy” by the Department of Environmental Protection - with particulate matter concentrations that are currently 15 times what is deemed healthy. People are encouraged to wear a mask outside, run an air purifier, keep windows closed, and avoid outdoor activity. This is an Air Quality Action Day. In Crafton that means no fires are permitted today, and most likely tomorrow. Allegheny County is monitoring conditions along with the PA DEP and will provide updates as needed. Please stay safe everyone!
