Description
As the summer goes into full swing please remember these tips to keep your property attractive and stay within code:
• Please keep the tree lawn cut along with your yard. If you are unsure what a tree lawn is please see picture below.
• Please keep bushes and trees from obstructing the sidewalks and road in front or the side of your property.
• Please be aware all residents owning tree lawns with street trees are required to have a permit issued from the Borough before any pruning or removal can be done.
• Please store trash cans with trash inside with tight lids in the rear of your property and only bring them out for pick-up after 4pm on Monday night.
• Please put trash cans back in rear within 24 hours of pick-up.
• Please contact the Borough if you need chipper services for any yard work debris involving tree branches/thick bushes—this service is free!
• Please apply for and acquire a permit before installing a hot tub or any pool over 24 inches deep (permanent of temporary)
• Please apply for and acquire a burn permit from the Borough if you want to burn. All fires must:
• Be 10 feet from any building or dwelling and property line
• Be attended by someone 18 or older
• Be no wider than 3 feet or less
• Be fueled by clean-burning wood only (no trash, plastic, leaves, green/wet wood etc)
• Be extinguished on any day designated and Air Action Day by the County.
• Be extinguished if the smoke is a nuisance to your neighbors (even if you have a permit.) Many Crafton residents have health impairments aggravated by smoke and they have a right to clean air too.
