Flash Flood Warning issued June 12 at 5:01PM EDT until June 12 at 9:00PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern New Castle County in northern Delaware...
Southwestern Delaware County in southeastern Pennsylvania...

* Until 900 PM EDT.

* At 501 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Wilmington, Chester, Swarthmore, Arden, Chelsea, Chester Township,
Lima, Concordville, Elam, Nether Providence Township, Talleyville,
and Greenville.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 8.
Interstate 95 in Delaware between mile markers 16 and 23.
Interstate 476 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 6.

Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
