Description
The City of Bradford has closed Callahan Park Pool for swimming today due to a "Code Red" air quality alert issued by the PA Department of Environmental Protection. The decision was made in consultation with the City's Health Officer.
A "Code Red" air quality alert means that the air quality is unhealthy for everyone, especially children, the elderly, and people with respiratory problems. Swimming in polluted air can irritate the lungs and worsen respiratory problems.
The National Weather Service State College has issued an air quality alert for Bradford and surrounding areas. The alert is in effect until 11:00 PM tonight. You can read the full alert here:

The City of Bradford apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Callahan Park Pool will make a determination tomorrow morning in regard to the opening of the pool.
