The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Southeastern Bastrop County in south central Texas...
Southeastern Caldwell County in south central Texas...
DeWitt County in south central Texas...
Southwestern Fayette County in south central Texas...
Gonzales County in south central Texas...
Southeastern Guadalupe County in south central Texas...
Karnes County in south central Texas...
Western Lavaca County in south central Texas...
Wilson County in south central Texas...

* Until 1100 AM CDT Saturday.

* At 457 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Cuero, Gonzales, Floresville, Yoakum, Luling, Kenedy, Karnes City,
Poth, Yorktown, Shiner, Stockdale, Flatonia, Moulton, Kosciusko,
Nixon, Elmendorf, La Vernia, Waelder, Runge and Falls City.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
