Special Weather Statement issued March 14 at 12:25AM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 1224 AM EDT, an area of heavy snow was located along a line
extending from near Kittanning to near Avella. Movement was southeast
at 25 mph.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Ross Township,
McCandless Township, Monroeville, Cranberry, Moon Township, McMurray,
McKeesport, and Butler.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 9 and 30.
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 22 and 65.
Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 27 and 88.
Parkway North between mile markers 1 and 13.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 40 and 84.
Snow will lead to reduced visibilities and hazardous travel
conditions.
Icy roads are possible as the snow melts on the roads then quickly
refreezes.
