Special Weather Statement issued February 16 at 9:28AM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
A front moved across the area early this morning with gusty
northerly windS behind it. Expect the strongest winds through
noon across portions of the southern Edwards Plateau, Hill
Country, I-35 corridor, and Coastal Plains. Sustained north wind
around 25 mph with gusts from 35-40 MPH are expected through the
mid afternoon hours. A few locations may reach Wind Advisory
criteria, especially in higher terrain and along I-35, but only
brief periods of these stronger winds are anticipated. Winds will
gradually diminish through the afternoon and evening.
Secure loose outdoor objects. High profile vehicles traveling on
east to west oriented roads should proceed with caution.
