For the past 2-3 months, the City of Bruceville-Eddy staff and Council have been working diligently to start the process of submitting an application for some much needed grant funding. Our intention is to submit for a Community Development Block Grant with a focus on improving water distribution within our city limits.
We have recently engaged with firms that will be assisting us through the many requirements imposed upon potential recipients by the United States government and the Texas Department of Agriculture. One of these requirements is a household survey of potential project beneficiaries to ensure the project will be serving low to moderate income families, as is intended by the awardees of the grant.
What does this mean to you? Over the next month or so (January 23 - Feburary 28, 2023) Mayor Linda Owens and City Administrator Kent Manton will be knocking on doors and making phone calls to citizens in order to complete this requirement of the grant application. The survey is 5 questions, and will take approximately 3 minutes of your time to complete. The survey does NOT capture any names whatsoever, but it will include a question regarding total family household income levels, greater or less than the federal annual Area Median Family Income (AMFI) level.
Currently proposed projects are focusing on the 3rd and 4th street area and Horseshoe Bend.
We would greatly appreciate everyone's support in getting these surveys knocked out so we have the best shot of getting awarded this project!
