Crafton hires Jim Price as new Borough Manager

Crafton Borough Council voted 6-0 (with the Mayor’s affirmative support) on January 12 to hire James T. Price, 49, of Scott Township, Pennsylvania, as the new Borough Manager, effective January 23, 2023.

Price holds a Masters of International Development with a focus in Development Planning and Environmental Sustainability from the University of Pittsburgh, and Bachelors degrees in Political Science and History from Cleveland State University. He is the Senior Program Manager for Sustainable Pittsburgh where he has worked with municipalities across the state to improve community sustainability along with providing resources to positively impact social, economic, and environmental outcomes. He formerly held the position of Assistant Borough Manager for Etna and led its economic development initiatives. Previously, Jim worked for CONNECT, PennFuture, and Overland Trading Company. He brings 20 years of public policy and leadership experience.

Council selected Price through an executive search firm from a national slate of 10 candidates after several interviews and meetings. Mr. Oliverio said that council members were impressed by his municipal knowledge, education, diverse background, and commitment.
