Hard Freeze Warning issued December 25 at 1:16AM CST until December 25 at 10:00AM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 15 degrees.
* WHERE...All of South Central Texas.
* WHEN...Until 10 AM CST this morning.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will drop below freezing again
tonight into Monday morning, but remain in the upper 20s for
most of the area.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
