Wind Chill Warning issued December 24 at 6:39AM EST until December 24 at 10:00AM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...For the Wind Chill Warning, dangerously cold wind
chills occurring. Wind chills as low as 30 below zero.
For the Winter Weather Advisory, snow occurring. Additional
snow accumulations of up to an inch today. Amounts of 3 to 5
inches may occur tonight into Sunday morning, especially near
and north of I-86. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph causing
blowing and drifting snow.
For the Wind Chill Advisory, very cold wind chills expected.
Wind chills as low as 10 to 20 below zero.
* WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie counties.
* WHEN...For the Wind Chill Warning, until 10 AM EST this
morning. For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 4 PM EST
Sunday. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 10 AM this morning
to noon EST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing
snow could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could
bring down tree branches. The cold wind chills could cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A fresh light coating of snow and winds
expected to increase slightly through mid morning will continue
to cause blowing and drifting snow. Visibilities drop to 1/2
mile to a mile at times, impacting travel along I-90, I-86
and I-79. Locations along the lakeshore should have the
strongest wind gusts. Lake effect snow will sink southward
toward the lakeshore of Erie County this evening into Sunday
morning
