Wind Chill Warning issued December 23 at 8:20PM EST until December 24 at 7:00PM EST by NWS State College PA
* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills. Wind chills 25 to 40 below
zero.
* WHERE...Portions of central Pennsylvania.
* WHEN...The most dangerous wind chills will be tonight, then relent
somewhat by Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Areas of blowing snow could result in poor driving
conditions, mainly over the Allegheny Plateau. Strong winds could
cause tree damage and isolated power outages. The cold wind chills
could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.
Avoid going outside during the coldest parts of the day. Dress in
layers and cover exposed skin. Wear a hat and gloves. Frostbite
and hypothermia can occur within minutes if precautions are not
taken.
