Hard Freeze Warning issued December 21 at 1:02PM CST until December 24 at 12:00PM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX

* WHAT...For the Hard Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as

mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central Texas.

* WHEN...For the Hard Freeze Warning, from 6 PM Thursday to noon
CST Saturday. For the Wind Advisory, from noon Thursday to
midnight CST Thursday night.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects.
Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may
result. Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Although temperatures will rise above
freezing for most of these areas during the day on Friday, they
will dip back into the upper teens and low 20s Friday night.

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
