Lake Effect Snow Warning issued November 16 at 3:38PM EST until November 17 at 10:00PM EST by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 6 to 12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 30
mph.
* WHERE...Northern Erie and Southern Erie counties.
* WHEN...From 7 PM EST this evening to 10 PM EST Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult and impact I-90. The
hazardous conditions will impact the Thursday morning commute.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake effect snow will begin to accumulate
quickly after sunset. Snow will increase in intensity overnight
with rates of one to two inches per hour at times. Snow will
shift inland during the day Thursday, before the most organized
snow bands lift north over Lake Erie by Thursday evening.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
