Description
The Borough Manager has received many photos and calls from residents in the past 2 weeks of a bear that is roaming through the DuBoistown PA Borough.
The bear has been seen on Cochran Ave, Riverside Drive, Highland Ave, Summer and Spring Street.
The bear is just looking for food sources as it prepares to go into hibernation.
Here are some things you can do to hopefully help the bear to move along.
1. Take your trash cans inside for the evening. Contact your garbage company and ask them what time they will be picking up in the morning so that you can take the can outside then and not overnight.
2. If you have bird feeders or squirrel feeders please remove them from your yard.
If you do have a bear approach you or your pet aggressively obviously contact 911 and game commission. In most cases the bears are just looking for food sources which if you eliminate those sources they hopefully will move along.
Here is a link to the information that the PA Game Commission has in regards to bears in neighborhoods.
