Road Work on Verona Road

Description
PITTSBURGH – The Department of Public Works announced today that road work on Verona Road between Saltsburg Road and Second Avenue in Penn Hills will begin during the morning of Monday, September 12, 2022. The work includes milling and paving, base repairs, reconstruction of an intersection, drainage improvements, shoulder work, and guide rail replacement. It will require the following traffic restrictions:
There will be short stoppages at work zones between Saltsburg Road and Second Avenue starting on September 12. They are expected to end in November 2022. Flaggers will be used to control traffic.
There will be a full closure at the intersection of Verona Road and Second Avenue starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, September 19. The closure is expected to end in October 2022. Traffic will be detoured using Wildwood Avenue, Allegheny River Boulevard, Plum Street, Hunter Road, Hamil Road, and Poketa Road.
