Special Weather Statement issued August 29 at 4:05PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA
At 405 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Sarver to near Clairton. Movement was east
at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Bethel Park, Monroeville, McKeesport,
Jeannette, Vandergrift, Kittanning, Apollo, Gastonville, Shaler
Township, and Plum.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 70 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 47 and 57.
Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 40 and 75.
Interstate 376 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 72 and 84.
