Adults are invited to join the Library for this Munch & Learn session.
Author Sheila Ali features the work of 99 well-established artists with strong ties to the city of Pittsburgh. The story of Pittsburgh’s avant-garde is told through images of artworks, interviews with artists, essays by art critics, and artist and art organization profiles. “What makes it all avant-garde, Ali said, is that it’s all art that, at least of the start of these artists’ careers, didn’t have a home in museums or established galleries. But fundamentally, Ali said, “They’re all artists that broke new ground.” (Bill O’Driscoll, WESA)
