Children are invited to learn how to create a graphic novel!
First, grab one of your favorite graphic novels and use it as your inspiration. Then, choose from a variety of graphic novel-style papers and stickers to help make your creation just right.
Steps to Make a Comic
1. Draw Simple Shapes
Use circles for heads, sticks or blocks for bodies, and simple lines to show happy, sad, or surprised faces.
2. Plan Three Parts
Box 1: Introduce your hero, animal, or main character.
Box 2: Something fun happens, or your character faces a little problem.
Box 3: Create a funny, exciting, or happy ending.
3. Add Speech Bubbles
Draw a round or cloud-shaped bubble next to your character and write their words inside.
4. Use Bold Colors
Trace your lines with a dark marker or color them with bright crayons to make your comic stand out.
