Join us to learn about the Codorus Valley, that area between the 3 branches of the Codorus Creek in southwestern York County. An area that has become a center hub of development in York County and at the same time retains parts of the past.
The Codorus Valley was first settled by Germans from the Palatinate region as west of the Susquehanna opened to settlement in the 1730’s. The area had some of the earliest roads, the first railroads, and some of York counties earliest churches. The Codorus Valley also experienced some of the confusion of boundaries of what became known as the Mason Dixon Line.
Presented by Tom Yingling, President of the Codorus Valley Area Historical Society in Jefferson, where he brings his leadership and passion for local history to the organization.
