Join the Chesterton-Porter Rotary Club and Porter Parks Department for the annual 4th of July Festival celebrating America's 250th birthday at Hawthorne Park!
Schedule:
• 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Lions Club Pancake Breakfast
• 9:00 a.m.: Annual 4th of July Parade (starts at Yost School) — Grand Marshal: LeRoy Flores
• 9:30 a.m.: Turtle Derby registration opens
• 11:00 a.m.: Turtle Derby
• 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.: Patriotic Poster Contest
• 3:00 p.m.: Brick Toss Contest
• 10:00 a.m. – Fireworks: Food vendors open
• 4:00 p.m.: Beer garden opens (hosted by Leroy's)
• 5:00 p.m. – Fireworks: Live music by "Together"
• Shortly after dusk: Fireworks
Food Vendors: Ben's Soft Pretzels, Kona Ice, Leroy's, Dog Days Ice Cream, The Dogg House, LeBoeuf BBQ and Cajun Food, Cool Runnings Jamaican Chicken, Chesterton Lions Club
Booths & Activities: Tera O'Connor Face Painting & Balloon Twisting, game booths, Wagner Farms LLC mini-Highland cows, bounce house (ages 8 and under), raffles and more.
Contests: Turtle Derby, Brick Toss, Patriotic Poster Contest
