Reminder to White Haven Borough Residents Regarding Trees and Brush Cleanup
With recent storms and summer weather, White Haven Borough would like to remind residents that trees damaged or fallen on private property are the responsibility of the property owner to clean up and remove.
When a tree falls across a public roadway, the Borough Street Department and Fire Department will respond to make the roadway safe and passable by cutting and removing only the portion necessary to reopen the road. The remaining cleanup and disposal of the tree is the responsibility of the property owner.
This also applies to trees and branches that extend into or over public roadways. Property owners are responsible for maintaining trees and vegetation on their property to prevent branches from obstructing traffic or striking school buses, trucks, emergency vehicles, and other large vehicles.
The Borough Street Department will assist residents by picking up brush that has been cut into 4-foot sections and tied into manageable bundles.
If you are unsure whether a tree or branch is your responsibility, or if you have any questions, please contact the Borough Office at 570-443-9129.
Thank you for helping keep our streets safe and accessible for everyone
