The Town of Porter Environmental Sustainability Commission is partnering with Purdue University Entomology to present “Insects in a New Light,” an engaging evening program that shines a spotlight on the fascinating world of nocturnal insects.
Participants will begin the evening with a presentation by Purdue entomologists covering insect diversity, ecology, and the important roles insects play in our environment. Following the indoor discussion, attendees will head outdoors to a blacklight station where they can observe insects attracted from the darkness and experience the nighttime ecosystem up close.
Whether you're a nature enthusiast, gardener, photographer, student, or simply curious about the natural world, this free program offers a unique opportunity to learn from experts and discover the incredible diversity of insects found right here in Northwest Indiana.
