Scouting for food is an annual food collection program organized by Scouting America, which began in 1981 as an Eagle Scout program and became a national program in 1988. During the drive scouts, go door-to-door to collect non-perishable food donations from the community to benefit local food banks and pantries. The collected items stay within the community to help those in need.
This Saturday, November 15, 2025, scouts will be present in Christiana to collect food donations for the Octorara Food cupboard. Please leave bagged non-perishable food donations on your front porch or somewhere easily accessible for our scouts. You can also drop donations off at the Lions Club pavilion on N. Bridge Street between the hours of 8 AM and 10 AM.
