In recent years, particularly over the last six months, the Forest Hills area has been hit hard by storms. Why are the storms so much more impactful than the ones the region saw historically? Why is our infrastructure seemingly unable to handle them? And what can we do about it?
This presentation will share ways that neighbors can come together to build up the resilience of their community, as well as policies that can be passed by local governments to make extended blackouts less likely. From shared fridges, to microgrids, to municipal utilities, this event will explore solutions that go beyond generators.
