This is a free public event focused on the need for land conservation in north Florida. Local conservation organizations will have informational tables highlighting their work in the region. It is a critical time for land conservation in Florida to protect Florida's wildlife habitat and green infrastructure that is vital for the quality of life. Learn about biodiversity conservation, the Ocala-to-Osceola and Florida Wildlife corridor, conservation easements, environmental stewardship, land management, and more! The guest speaker will be Dr. Thomas Hoctor, Director of the Center for Landscape Conservation Planning at the University of Florida.
There is no admission charge, but donations are encouraged and greatly appreciated! Donors will receive a wristband for a discount on drinks.
The event will have a Mardi Gras theme with live music by Gumbo Limbo Cajun Band. Food and drinks provided by First Magnitude Brewing Co. and Louisiana-themed food trucks. Costumes are encouraged, and party beads and masks will be available.
