During this virtual event, attendees will be transported back to 1858 as they meet Margaret Cummins as she is readying household staff for the arrival of the royal couple and their nine children. Guests will learn about the traditions and history of the season. In fact, the audience becomes the incoming household staff of the castle, so don't be surprised if Mrs. Cummins checks to see if your hands are clean!

The library is offering two showings for this event: Thursday, December 7 at 6 PM and a matinee on Saturday, December 9 at 1 PM.
Jessica Michna, recipient of the Presidential Service Center’s Distinguished Service Award, will portray Margaret Cummins, head housekeeper of Balmoral Castle during the reign of Queen Victoria, in an upcoming pre-recorded presentation. With over twenty years of experience as a professional actress and historian, Jessica is widely known for her riveting portrayals of First Ladies, notable women of history, and even fictitious characters.
