Please join New Freedom Heritage on Thursday November 9th for our last meeting in this year's speaker series. Our speaker for the meeting is the award-winning author Scott Mingus.
The topic is:
"Abraham Lincoln and the Controversial Photos at Hanover Junction"
A series of six photographs mislabeled for more than 100 years were correctly identified in the 1950s as showing Hanover Junction, Pennsylvania. Since that time, some experts believe the images show Abraham Lincoln on his only visit to York County while alive. Others disagree and state that Lincoln never even got off the train at Hanover Junction, let alone pose for photos. Multiple award-winning author Scott Mingus will present his views, adapted from his book Soldiers, Spies & Steam: A History of the Northern Central Railway in the Civil War.
You don't want to miss this discussion. There is always something to learn when Scott comes to talk. The meeting will be held at the Boy Scouts Clubhouse on Veterans Drive and will begin at 7:00pm.
