I am working with Reps. Joe D’Orsie and Wendy Fink to bring a free license plate replacement event to OUR community!
You can get pulled over and even fined for having a license plate that is illegible. Getting a replacement plate is free, however, a lot of people do not know when a plate is deemed illegible or how to go about getting a replacement.
A plate is deemed illegible when:
• One or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet.
• If the plate has any blistering, peeling, discoloration, or loss of reflectivity.
Law enforcement officials will be there to check your plate and deem it illegible if necessary. From there we will have staff onsite to help you fill out the forms and have them hand delivered to PennDOT. The new plate will be mailed directly to your house!
