Details
After a pretty mild winter season, there are still plenty of stones on the streets to be swept up. This is for cleanliness but also the safety of motorists, especially motorcycles.
This process takes about 2 weeks depending on weather conditions. The first week is concentrated on the alleys, done by the Borough Maintenace crew. The second week is concentrated on the main roads, which is sub-contracted out. The main roads are broken down in quadrants. NE, NW, SW, SE. Each done a different day of the week.
WE ARE IN THE SECOND WEEK OF SWEEPING NOW!
Please notice the 'NO PARKING' signs placed around town showing you which area of town is to be done next, and when not to park there. Violators will be ticketed and towed so we can clean the entire street.
This day will be concentrated on the Southeast quadrant of town.
This includes:
- W Main St from Dallas Dr to Walnut St (South Side Only) - We were unable to post this section yesterday, so we added it to tomorrow's list of streets to be swept.
- E Main St from High St to Walnut St (South Side Only)
- S Pleasant Ave (Main St to New School Ln)
- S Park St (Main St to Colonial Dr)
- E Frederick St
- Colonial Dr
- April Ln
- Maylyn Ave
We were unable to post these streets but plan to sweep them if there are few to no cars parked on them.
