Riverfront Theater Company is set to bring down the house (literally) with The Play
That Goes Wrong at Allegheny RiverTrail Park (285 River Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15215)
on November 10–12 and 17–19, 2022. In this rollicking production, brimming with
purposeful missed cues, falling scenery, and plentiful spit takes, everything going wrong
means that everything is going exactly, comically right thanks to an expert and agile
cast of performers—many of whom will double as the show’s stage crew.
The Play That Goes Wrong is a show-within-a-show that welcomes audiences to
opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder
at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This
1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading
lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their
lines). Nevertheless, the accident-prone thespians battle against all odds to make it
through to their final curtain call, with hilarious consequences!
The cast of The Play That Goes Wrong includes: Colin Burns (Chris), Erika Krenn
(Sandra), Chelsea Conway (Annie), John Feightner (Max), Liz Shaming (Denise),
Stephen Toth (Robert), Jim Froehlich (Trevor, U/S Robert), Fred Coleman (Johnathan),
Katheryn Hess (Stage Crew, U/S Sandra), Randi Ippolito (Stage Crew, U/S Annie),
Emma Paulini (Stage Crew, U/S Denise), Abbie Siecinski (Stage Crew), Steve Torquato
(U/S Chris and Max), and David Lu (U/S Trevor and Johnathan).
The Play That Goes Wrong is presented by arrangement with Dramatists Play Service
under license from Mischief Worldwide Ltd. The Mischief Production of The Play That
Goes Wrong was originally produced on the West End Stage by Kenny Wax & Stage
Presence and on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, J.J. Abrams, Kenny Wax & Stage
