Hard Freeze Warning issued December 23 at 3:04PM CST until December 25 at 10:00AM CST by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 8.
* WHERE...Portions of south central Texas.
* WHEN...Until 10 AM CST Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will climb above freezing
Saturday afternoon, but then drop back into the 20s Saturday
night.
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
